The Commonwealth Tenants Association

Our Executive Board

The Executive Board of Directors of the Commonwealth Tenants Association is a group of 15 residents, elected by the residents of the Commonwealth Housing Development to represent the 1000 residents.  Included in this group are two people from each of our elderly/disabled buildings, to ensure equal representation.

Executive Board Committees

The Executive Board conducts it’s work through a variety of committees which are open for all members of the community to participate in.  Our committees are described as follows:

Program – The Program Committee develops, implements and evaluates all programs and events that the CTA offers.       

Management – The Management Committee works with the Corcoran Management Company and the Boston Housing Authority to ensure that all issues that pertain to the management of the development are addressed.       

By-laws - The By-law committee evaluates our By-Laws on an ongoing basis to be certain that the by laws accurately reflects what is in the best interest of the organization.

Executive – The Executive Committee plans the agenda for the Executive Board Meetings.

Finance - The Finance committee develops the budget, oversees the finances of the organization and develops the long-term financial goals and strategies. 

Election –The election committee works with several members of the community and our third party overseer, to ensure that our bi-annual election follows the electoral procedure as described by federal regulations for “Local Tenant Organizations”.
